Special Adaptive Housing Grant

The V.A. provides grants to Service members and Veterans with certain permanent and total service-connected disabilities to help purchase or construct an adapted home, or modify an existing home to accommodate a disability. Two grant programs exist: the Specially Adapted Housing (S.A.H) grant and the Special Housing Adaptation (S.H.A) grant.  The S.A.H grants help Veterans with certain service-connected disabilities live independently in a barrier-free environment.  Camerio Builders has contracted for and completed many of these grant adaptations over the years.
